PHOBoS - Clouds of Weep, Ball of Flame [Shkart26]

The title itself quite explains the atmosphere PHOBoS created, a cosmic storm of frequencies ..wonderful release  and here's a word from the artist himself:
"Clouds of Weep, Ball of Flame" was originally broadcasted live on electro-music.com on June 29th, 2012.
Some heavy rain had inspired me to play some music, using the live rainsound as background ambience.
Even though most of the rain didn't last long enough to get into the recording, it did add a nice layer of
wet sounds and I was cheerfully surprised by the timing of certain sounds. The recording was later
processed by editing out unwanted parts and mixing the remaining parts back together in a slightly
different order. Allthough it is one track, it does consist of two different parts, which I would
personally describe as follows:

part1 - Clouds of Weep: Drift along on a playful journey with the clouds. Slowly moving around or taken
on a rollercoaster ride by the wind. weeping with joy along the way, because it's fun to be a cloud.

part2 - Ball of Flame: The sun in all it's fury. Full of energy, burning and radiating. Solar flares
reaching out to destroy everything that dares to come close. Take this ball of flame serious.

The latest / newest releases on Shkart ,first one by Antimon ,playful and bit pop , but also nice crafted and with thoughtful lyrics ,and comes with a video for one of the tunes . I wrote this when this was uploaded :  If I was to say at one point that every musician needs to do one piano album in his career ,than in this very moment in musical history it is the pop music and what is left of it that is very actual ,simply because it is the worst ever pop music we hear in the mainstream . Antimon in this wonderful release full of contrasts plays variations of pop , very musicaly crafted and yet any surgical precision is avoided so this mini album is more alive ,maybe a bit retro sounding and even experimental . The production doesn't make it sterile even when it does sound clean ,a bit of tape recording effect is present which fits really well in the instrumentals ,all in it's place .. so kind of proper for the new year thing eve , coming from the north ,a gift from Antimon and SHKART ,enjoy and have lovely time and ..er don't make lines .

Here is a NEW release on our tiny label, it's been a while but we're back with a 48 minutes long improv by PHOBoS
PHOBoS is a master circuit bender, a hardcore DIY-er and a noisetoy maker. This recording was made mostly as a
demo for the solenoid based mechanical toy piano PHOBoS built, but it also features a circuit bent MixMeDj and
other DIy instruments. You can find more info about these at the moonbase. (check PHOBoS' old webpage for some
really amazing circuit bent toys)

This is the description by PHOBoS as one can find at the electro-music.com forums: "I put the audio of the
Solenoid Pianoid (picked up by a piezo) through some delays. Added some MixMeDj (bent toy) sounds through an
Alesis Midiverb, and also hooked up one of my Drone boxes. This was all mixed in with a 20minute loop with some
beats, synthpads and a couple of other sounds"

Overall dark a moody repetitive 48 minutes or so that brings one in a trance like state while rough mutilated
drones are fading in and out ..

Woodstock of Electronic Music

The electro-music festival, known as the "Woodstock of electronic music," is the world's premiere event for experimental electronic music. In it's seventh year, this year's gathering features three inspiring and mind-bending days of innovative electronic music concerts, seminars, workshops, demonstrations, jam sessions, video art, a laptop battle, and a swap-meet. Action starts at 1pm on Friday, September 9 and runs until after midnight on September 11. Musical activities will be running continuously throughout the three days of the festival.

electro-music 2011 takes place at the Greenkill Retreat Center in Huguenot, New York. On-site lodging and meals are available. Tickets range from $35 for a single day to $360 for a 3-day pass including meals and lodging.
